People’s Pantry at Alice Charity holds that everyone should have access to wholesome food. Our aim is to provide families and people experiencing food poverty in Stoke-on- Trent and Newcastle-Under-Lyme a respectful and encouraging space. We cannot achieve this, though, by ourselves. Our pantry is kept filled thanks in great part to your kind donations, which also enable us to provide a range of basic food goods to individuals in need.
Dealing with Food Insecurity
Food insecurity is the restricted or unpredictable availability of reasonably priced, wholesome food. It’s a complicated matter influencing people from many backgrounds and families.
Why Does Food Insecurity Matter?
Lack of good eating has major repercussions:
1-Health Concerns
Food insecurity can cause malnutrition, which affects both physical and mental health.
2-Enhanced Tension
Problems with food access can cause anxiety and tension, therefore compromising general well-being.
3-Reduced Productivity
Food insecurity can compromise work performance for adults; children experiencing hunger often struggle to concentrate in the classroom.
