Buckets of Possibilities
Sadly, many parents are unable to sustain an appropriate standard of care due to poverty, mental health difficulties, substance misuse problems or simply not being prepared for the task of parenting. This is where our Buckets of Possibilities project changes lives.
Alice supports parents to help them to provide a safe and nurturing home environment for their children.
Our team arranges home visits to assess what needs to be done to create a safe and healthy environment. We plan an appropriate programme of repair and refurbishment. This is then carried out by teams of professionals, assisted by our volunteers.
After work on the home is complete, families continue to receive support to ensure they are able to maintain a healthy standard of living.
The team visits many houses in both Stoke-on-Trent and Newcastle-under-Lyme where there are absolutely no carpets, leaving the house cold, difficult to keep clean, and a risky environment for babies and crawling toddlers.
Your donations help us to carpet these homes and create safe family environments.

Poverty could happen to any one of us, and this needs to be accepted. It isn’t a dirty word used to degrade people in society, but something that is affecting individuals and families more frequently every day. With new jobs being scarce and redundancy on the rise, poverty is a harsh truth that needs to be highlighted as an outcome of more than just drug and alcohol abuse. Contributing factors could include anything from death in the family to mental illness, and here at Alice we understand and address this.
